The Truth About His Stripes: I bet it is not what you think!

Before He went to the cross for our sins, Jesus dealt with every sickness that has been or ever will be known to man.  How?  Jesus took 39 lashes with a thing similar to a cat-o-nine-tails.  It had 3 – 12 straps attached to a handle.  Let’s say that there were 9 straps.  Each strap had metal hooks and pieces of bone and pottery tied down each strap, as well as balls of lead on the ends.  Let’s say that it had 3 pieces per strap.  That would be 9 straps, with 3 cutting edges on each, times 39 times the whip was brought down.  9×3=27  27×39=1053.  That is not 39, but 1053 stripes that He took for your and my healing.

If, two thousand years ago, He did all of that for you, do you really think he would say “No”  to you about it now?  How do we know what His answer is?  Read the Book!   God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19), and all of His promises are yeah and amen.  (2 Corinthians 1:20).  So how do we make it work?  It is just like Jesus said in Mark 5:36. “Be not afraid, only believe.”

    Jesus also said, “Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
    Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
    Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they SHALL recover.” Now, seems to me that if you TRULY believe in what Jesus did, these signs will be following you, It also seems that if they are not, it is because you do NOT believe, in which case you are in t r o u b l e! Remember, Jesus said it, not me!
