“If Then Ye Be Christ’s…”

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

But, what is that holy, precious promise?

The original promise was given to Abraham by God, which was that a Savior would come thus bringing salvation and eternal life.  This is the first will of God for every man (woman, child)(John 3:16).  After that is done, then comes the New Testament promise for believers, given by Jesus himself, the Holy Spirit and having the Mind of Christ.

What proof do I have of this?  Scriptures:

Galatians 3:14. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ (salvation); that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Remember Galatians 5:22, the fruit born of the Holy spirit being in you?

2 Peter 1:2-8

 (2) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

(5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

(6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

(7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

(8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  How does one get this Spirit of promise?

First, one must believe that Jesus is the First Born Son of God, who died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and was raised from the dead to sit on the right hand of the Father, and asking Him to be Lord of one’s life.  This is done by asking, and receiving is done by faith; you truly believe it is done.  The second promise is received the same way.  You ask, and believe that you receive.

Luke 11:13. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

How does one know if they have the Holy Spirit as promised?

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Doesn’t this one say it all?  But, are we really?)

Also,  according to Acts 4:31, one is filled with boldness to wittness and proclaim the Word.

1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

This means that when you hear something that is not true, you know (discern) it in your spirit (not your head) as well as Him revealing His truths to you.

What is the anointing, though?

Isaiah 10:27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

It is the burden removing, yoke destroying power of God.

What do you do with the anointing?

Jesus said in Mark 16:17: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name (in my place, in my stead, with my authority, as if it were me doing it) shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.*

What happens when one has the mind of Christ, and acts like it?

They become believers that shake the gates of Hell, and cause demons to tremble when they awaken.  This is how not only are the oppressed set free, but by seeing the signs and wonders, many shall believe!

Isn’t that what it is all about, anyway?
