What Is YOUR Point?

Posted in Christianity at 2:55 pm by Lisa Ritchey

I have realized that most of us have so many points.  We so often will do the right thing, but only  “up to a point”.   I recently realized, and had to deal, with the fact that I would fast, but only “up to a point”.

Some people are patient  “up to a point”.   Others will be nice  “up to a point”.   How about loving someone?  Is there anyone that you can bear only  “up to a point”?  Do you believe God, but only “up to a point”?

What about giving?  Most people would say “OUCH!” here, for sure.  What is the number behind the dollar sign at your point?  But, why would there even be a point here?  “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”  Luke 6:38.

If we are true followers of Christ, aka Christians, “…we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16.)  No points, no limits, and no limitations.

Let’s get the points out of our lives and be willing to go for all or nothing in our walk and faith.  Let’s be willing to do what we have been called to do and to do it to the limit that we  have been called to do it, knowing that God is just and faithful to bless those that believe and obey.
