What Is The difference? Or Even Is There One?

Posted in Christianity at 4:12 pm by Lisa Ritchey

What is different about what YOU, a part of the church, as opposed to the rest of the world? Is it what you:

1. say,

2. act like,

3. watch,

4. listen to,

5. drink, and

6. wear?

What sets you and your lifestyle apart from “the heathen”?

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (2 Corinthians 6:17)

If we are to have lives like Christ intended, here is how to do it:

1. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23) The heart has three gates: the eyes, ears, and mouth. If we see, hear, or say it enough, we believe it and believe that it is acceptable for us. What you watch, listen to, and say will eventually come back out of you in either words or actions.

2.“And be not drunk with wine (Or beer, or liquor, or any other alcoholic beverage. Or use drugs, or anything else that will alter your personality or “loosen you up”.), wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”. (Ephesians 5:18) The great danger here is that you not only do not control your actions when using these substances, you can not control your tongue, and may speak things best not spoken. Once words are spoken, they can not be put back!

3.“(9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel,”1 Timothy 2:9-10 Girls, this means no “Low and Behold” clothes: cut down to here with a hem line up to there. What God gave you is for your husband to see, not everyone else. For your sakes, stop dressing like hookers advertising for business! You do not need to do this. You are too special to be demeaning yourself so! How do I know? You have “put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” (Colossians 3:10)

You are the image of Christ. You don’t get any more special than that, Darlin’!

So, just what is different between you and the rest of the world? What should be? So, the most important question I have for you today is:

Now that you know all of this, what difference will there be?

“… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)
