JUST Like A Glove

Posted in Christian Living, Christianity tagged , , , at 6:26 pm by Lisa Ritchey

When I use strong chemicals to clean, I use a glove so my skin  won’t get irritated. When a scientist uses certain chemicals, he must use a glove so his skin won’t get  eaten off. The scientist and I do our work, but we are doing it through the  gloves. The gloves don’t do anything except what we direct them to. My glove is  not accomplishing the job, I am, but I am doing it through the glove.

It is the same way with Jesus. When Jesus was on Earth Himself, He  laid hands on people. He still does, and He still heals, delivers, sets free,  but He often uses a person to do it through.  Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn, Ron Phillips, nor I heal. Jesus does, but He does it through us, just as if we were His gloves. It is exactly the same thing.

When one spends enough time in His presence, and is truly being used by Him, they become molded just as a well-worn glove. They will take on His character. When one spends a great amount of time with someone, their thoughts become very alike. My husband and I know what the other wants and is going to do. We spend a lot of time together. We are  in a relationship.

You will find with Christ, just as with another person, the more  time spent with them, and the more intimate the relationship, the more they  know each other, the more easily they work together, the more they long to  please the other in any way possible.

So it is with anyone truly in love with God. They want to spend a lot of time with Him,
talking with Him and listening to His voice and what He has to say.

When a person uses the same glove very often,  it begins to look just like their hand. After so long, an  oft’ used, well-worn glove becomes shaped, formed identical to the hand that uses it. Any Other hand doesn’t fit, won’t work it well. (“And when
he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him:
for they know his voice. (5) And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee
from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.John 10:4-5 ).

Our lives, character, thoughts, actions, deeds should be just like Jesus. We should be just like a glove formed to fit around His hands, being just like Him: His oft’ used, well-worn gloves.
