The Fields Are White. But Where Are Those To Do The Harvesting?

Afro-Eurasian aspect of Earth

There is a song by Hillsong called You Said.  The chorus of the song goes like this

You said, “Ask and I’ll give the nations to you”

Oh, Lord, that’s the cry of my heart

Distant shores and the islands will see

Your light, as it rises on us

You said, Your glory will fill the earth

Like water the sea

You said, “Lift up your eyes

The harvest is here,

the Kingdom is near”

You said, “Ask and I’ll give the nations to you”

Oh, Lord, that’s the cry of my heart

Distant shores and the islands will see

Your light, as it rises on us[1]

This is so the cry of my heart.  When I look at the picture above, This is what I see:

Cotton field ready to be harvested

Each bole of cotton represents a lost soul.  The fields truly are white with the harvest.

Now.

Today.

Is there anyone that will go, though?

Not nearly enough. This absolutely breaks my heart.

Here are some statistics that really shook me up. I hope they do you, too.

The rate in which a light flashes on top of an emergency vehicle is the average rate that people are dying and going to hell.

Following is how the numbers add up:

1.72 per second
103 per minute
6198 per hour
149 thousand per day
54.3 million per year
3.8 billion per average lifetime (70 years)[2]

This is the number of people who are slipping through our nets and going to hell because there are not enough harvesters.

The Lost must hear the Gospel. They must be preached to.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:14 KJV

The reward for preachers in Heaven is unimaginably grand, and here on Earth it ain’t bad either!

Romans 10:15 … How beautiful (hōraios  pronounced ho-rah’-yos; belonging to the right hour or season (timely), that is, (by implication) flourishing (beauteous [figuratively]): – beautiful.[3]) are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

You don’t have to go around the world to find them. There are people all around us literally dying to hear about Jesus.  Won’t you please tell them?
