Two men were in the hospital together.  One of them was blind, the other old.

Every morning the old man sat up for an hour and would tell the blind man what was going on in the little park just outside their  hospital window.  He would tell him of the children playing, the kites flying, trees blossoming, flowers blooming.

One day the old man went to surgery and did not return. When their nurse told the blind man about his roommate, the he asked the nurse to look out the window and tell him what was going on, as his roommate did.

The nurse replied, “But there is no way he would have known, sir.  He was blind, too!”
