You Shout, “Hallelujah!” But Do You DO It?

I am watching a 2007 Perry Stone Ministries camp meeting video on the rapture. Tommy Bates of Community Family Church was singing “Is this not the land of Beulah“, Appalachian style. Beautiful, moving, anointed song. I had it looping for 2 days! Then the next song he sings is his “Drinking song“.   There are clearer versions, but for the full effect watch here.  Sure enough, I was one of the runners there, too!  HALLELUJAH!  I have heard him sing this about a dozen times in person, and all but one, yep, there I went. It has happened so often that Tommy Bates calls me “The Running Sister”.  There is an anointing on this song like I have seen on no other!

Now, why do we run? Because we are submitted and yielded enough to truly halal. After all, Hallelujah means halal to Him.  [NOTE: Hallelujah is not in the Bible because the Old Testament was written for the Jews and they all knew who got their highest praise. In the original text halal is used hundreds of times, though. Hallelujah is not in the New Testament for the same reason. In Revelation, 19:1, 3, 4, &6 the word “alleluia” is used and means “Praise ye Jah!”[1]]But, what is this halal?

A primitive root; to be clear (originally of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence to make a show; to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively to celebrate; also to stultify: – (make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool (-ish, -ly), glory, give [light], be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, [sing, be worthy of] praise, rage, renowned, shine.[2]

Running, shouting, dancing, jumping, twirling, spinning, etc.  To just act a fool in people’s eyes.

When we love Him more that we do our pride and our ego and show it, He moves for us.  Has He ever gently prompted you to step out of your comfort zone to bring Him glory? It certainly would crucify the flesh if you balk at it. THAT may be why you NEED to halal! Hmm.  Did I really go there?  Yep, I sure did!  Accept it and deal with it.

Halal. Don’t frown on it and don’t knock it. When someone halals they are getting their blessing!

Are you that submitted?  To you, IS He worthy?  Of what?  Selah.
